Don't Panic Flyer

Wigan home of Donk, pies & Don’t Panic. These boys have been putting on what are by all accounts epic raves in their home town for a while now and we’re looking forward find out how they do things up north. If your in the area, come say hello!

Bass Hound Records – Treats Vol 3

From the opening sample of Walter White on the incredibly heavy collab between label boss Double Oh No and Heapy, through the squires-esque stylings of Basshound and the wonky techno of Deadlybuzz’s Got No Money, this compilation shows how much many of these artists have progressed, and how Bass Hound has as a label; the quality and diversity of each track speaks for itself. Also includes a cheeky techno-esque tune from our resident Simtek, and a heavy dubstep remix of Hadean’s Like That. For $3 it’s a steal!

When I say niche you say yeah? Hailing from Huddersfield, Mr C has been making some serious waves up north with his infectious take on 4×4 bassline. From his collab’s with Krissi B & Thorpey among others, this release on Off Me Nut cements his place as a stalwart of the genre. Worth the £2 for the Tim Westwood mashup alone.

Pseudogeddon – A Jungle Footwork Compilation

Some of the tunes on this compilation are so good it was almost tempting not to share them, but that is not what we are about at In The Face, at all! So here is one of the best jungle footwork releases we’ve ever heard. On it are some absolute killer reworks of classic jungle tunes, like Om Unit’s 808 laden take of We Ire E, and even some juked up versions of d&b classics like DJ Fresh’s Gatekeeper. Excellent and totally free, downloadable here.

Featuring all new and original productions from Mumdance, blending everything from B-More to Calypso this mixtape is a good taste of what’s to come with tracks out on Trouble & Bass and Mad Decent among others. With vocals from Jammer, Trim and a whole host of others plus collabs with artists like AC Slater & Drums of Death this is a good showcase of what’s to come from the man this year.
