Hyperchord – Down In The Gutter EP

Mutant Bass Records are back with another genre-pushing release from Hyperchord, with a remix from our resident wunderkind Hadean. Combining techno breakbeat and bassline to ear-pleasing effect, Hyperchords originals are good, but for my money Hadeans remix is the real killer on this release- incredibly heavy kicks and a rolling bassline=win!

Gash – Mix For Hadean (Sub FM)

New mix from our resident DJ and producer Gash, for Hadeans Sub FM show. Gash flexes his producing muscles for this one, with a tracklist comprising of almost entirely his own productions/remixes. Flowing from moombah to mutant bass & juke territory, this mix showcases his original takes on these genres.

3D!T/Quaver – Neck Romance

Some lovely wonky goodness from Horror Boogie, with 4 cuts from 2 artists: both 3D!T and Quaver bring the wonk and wobbley styles fit for any party. As a fellow independent vinyl label, we have a lot of love for these guys. Support them by ordering this release from for just £5 plus p&p.

Rankin Audio – Ableton Live Projects

This would have almost been worth covering just for the tunes themselves but in this case £20 gets you the project files and every audio sample, all constructed in Ableton Live 8 using just the built in plugins and NI Massive.

Includes 5 really rather decent tunes to delve into, learn from & remix covering Dubstep, Drumstep, Drum & Bass, Trap & 110bpm.

Nice release – always been surprised there isn’t more of this sort of thing happening.

Brock Out Mixtape 017: Lenkemz

Bristol based club night Brock Out’s first mixtape of the year comes from Leeds-based producer Lenkemz. This man made some serious noise in 2011, with his virulent fusion of bassline, jungle, juke, grime and bashment battering dancefloors from Chapeltown to Chicago.
2012 looks set to be an even bigger year, with the release of his remix for Chi-town legend Traxman forthcoming on King Pigeon and the anthemic grime riddim ‘Hotline’ due to drop on Senseless Records.

Do not sleep on this…
