In honour of St Patricks Day we have a very special Irish themed In The Face for you, with prominent night & label Act Normal taking over downstairs, bringing over many quality DJ’s from the emerald isle. In the main room all the way from Sheffield we have our biggest Off Me Nut Takeover to date, with Squire of Gothos going b2b with Phatworld AND Superior Cornrows, K-Orse & Bass Hound making an appearance right before their new album drops, and Thorpey who will be bringing the heavy bassline bangers. To complete this epic night we have all round soundsmith Kursa who makes everything from dnb to glitch hop, and will be playing a special set of brand new material, as well as Duskky & Audiogutter reuniting after their epic set at Boomtown last year to play some more 160 stuff for us. Flava D – In the Dance EP

A nice slice of garage tinged bassline from Butterz main gyal Flava D, the title track sets things off with a bang with its infectious and ever changing bassline and an appropriate vocal proclaiming ‘war is in the dance’. Second track Groggy also follows suit with a hyped up sleazy basslines over some suitably swung 4×4 beats. Out now on Champions label Formula Records.

Phatworld – Time Don EP

Off Me Nut Records first vinyl arrives, and seriously puts everyone else to shame: the production on this release is next level, with every track being a straight up Sheff banger. The Time Don EP features some great local vocal talent from the likes of Devilman on the hilarious bouncy anthem Milk & Bread, or the ode to the Steel City that is Do It Like Sheff. This release is available here on limited edition vinyl, so if you want a copy pick one up sharpish!

AC Slater – Back To The Floor

AC Slater has always been infuenced by UK sounds, and this new EP is no exception, clearly taking inspiration from the jackin and bassline house movement gaining momentum here. As usual this is his own take on the genre, incredibly well produced dancefloor fare, and he takes it and combines it with his Trouble & Bass style making it an essential (and free) download for your collection.

Spoils & Monkey Wrench – Enemies In The Dance

Brighton based Spoils team up with Bristol lads Monkey Wrench for this immense EP, out now on True Tiger offshoot Stripes Records and from the off we knew this was a goodun. Opener & title track Enemies In The Dance blends many different styles, though all dancefloor centric, with its infectiously demanding vocal giving way to a gut wrenching bassline. Grillz is the other big track on this release for us, the bassline slowly descending over a tightly cut hip-hop vocal sample. A great debut, I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot from these guys over the next year.

DJ Dropacat – Endless Summer Mix

This mix by American DJ Dropacat for SF night Nice Ones takes us on a journey through house and garage, onto techno, mutant bass and more. The ending features the oddly experimental duo GirlsOnDrugs but for the rest it’s pretty much straight up bangers all the way from the likes of Deadbeat, Kanji, Audiogutter etc.
